Government publications, publicity materials, and other records related to liberty
loan campaigns, 1917-1919
Speakers' Bureau: correspondence of R. D. W. Connor, chairman of the Speakers Committee,
N.C. Council of Defense, who arranged speakers for the second war fund campaign of
the American Red Cross, school commencement exercises, and the Third Liberty Loan
during the spring of 1918. Prior to the Fourth Liberty Loan in September 1918, Connor
was appointed chairman of the Speakers' Bureau, Central Liberty Loan Committee for
North Carolina. He served in the same capacity for the Victory Liberty Loan in the
