Abstract

Photographic prints, primarily portraits dating c. 1850-1960 and depicting members of the Wake County families of Holloway, Nipper, Bailey, and Horton (and related families), the Madison County family of Reverend John Judson Ammons (and related families), and the Wilson County, Lucama area, Davis family. All came from an album assembled by Lillian Myatt Holloway Horton, mother of the donor. Donated by William J. Ammons of Wendell, NC, and named at his request after his late wife.

Collection Overview

Photographic prints, primarily portraits dating c. 1850-1960 depicting members of the Wake County families of Holloway, Nipper, Bailey, and Horton (and related families), the Madison County family of Reverend John Judson Ammons (and related families), and the Wilson County, Lucama area, Davis family. All came from an album assembled by Lillian Myatt Holloway Horton, mother of the donor. Donated by William J. Ammons of Wendell, NC, and named at his request after his late wife.

The collection contains six series arranged by related families. The bulk of the collection dates from 1860-1900 and contains many tintypes and cabinet cards.
