Collection Overview
This collection contains photocopied typed transcripts of oral history interviews with Outer Banks residents recorded from 1974 to 1988 for various projects. The 1988 interviews were conducted by researcher Amy Glass for a project entitled "Lifeways of the Outer Banks," sponsored by the National Park Service and the Southern Oral History Program. The 1974 interviews were conducted by Michael V. Wurm under the auspices of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, apparently for a project documenting the history of Ocracoke, as all interviewees hail from that island. For the remainder of the interviews, projects have not been identified on the transcripts.
