Papers of Morson, teacher and administrator of Raleigh Male Academy and Raleigh High School, including a few family letters, drafted comments by Morson about Prof. J. D. Hodges and Capt. J. J. Fray, bills and receipts for the academy and family expenses, lists of students and grades (1884-1887, 1900), lesson outlines and tests, academy catalog (1900-1901), and newspaper clippings about education and about Morson. Minutes (1877-1893) and other papers of the (Episcopal) St. John's Guild in Raleigh record the establishment and operation of a reading room and of St. John's Hospital, founded in 1878 and sold to trustees of Rex Hospital in 1893. A petition from leading Raleigh residents concerns site of hospital (1881).
