    Papers centering on Jennie (Jane) Marriott Procter Moore of Wake Co., including letters (1848-1853) to her from Isaac Procter before their marriage; papers relating to his men's clothing and tailoring business in Raleigh (1852-1859); his estate papers (1857-1863); and guardian accounts for their son Ivan (1867-1874). A few papers (1872-1898) concern her second husband, William C. Moore. Papers of Ivan M. Procter (b. 1855) include a few letters, deeds, and volumes concerning his personal and rental property in Raleigh and Wakefield (1882-1904) and his business investments in and out of state. Also ledger of general store in Wakefield (1880-1885); and records of family expenses (1888- 1928). Earlier papers of the Procters, include Quaker marriage certificates from England, Pennsylvania, and Maryland (1723, 1771, 1809); bills from Oliver and Procter, men's clothiers in Raleigh (1844-1850); and William Procter's brief description of travel between Baltimore and Richmond by rail and steamboat in 1837, recording formal complaint by passengers including John Ross and other Cherokee chiefs. Early Marriott family papers (1785-1864) include Wake Co. grant and deeds, a will (1864), estate papers, and guardian papers.
