Collection Overview
Architectural plans, drawings, and sketches by "Terry" Waugh, Raleigh architect and NCSU professor, including campus plans for NCSU (1923 and the master plan for 1958-1975), UNC-G (1926, 1949, 1960), UNC-CH (1959), Universidad Agraria, Peru (1962- 1965), and Samarcand Manor (1961). City plans are for Chicago (1945), downtown Raleigh (1960), Brooklyn area of Charlotte (1959- 1960, 1964), and Forsyth Co. Fairgrounds, Winston-Salem (1952). Renovation plans include those for Winston Hall, NCSU (1953- 1955), and for conversion of the old State Highway Building into the N.C. Museum of Art (1953-1955). Plans for commercial buildings include A.M.E. Zion Publishing Co. in Charlotte (1962, 1965), the Coliseum in Winston-Salem (1953), and a hangar and office building for Piedmont Airlines, Smith Reynolds Airport, Winston- Salem (1953-1955). Other plans are for Frances Lacy School in Raleigh (1952?1953), Harrelson Hall at NCSU (ca. 1960), and several private residences in Chapel Hill (1952-1961). See also P.C. 1478.
