1962 Fort Bragg and Pope AFB Telephone Directory, CLDW 34
Abstract
The 1962 Fort Bragg and Pope AFB Telephone Directory collection is composed of one
original 124-page telephone directory for Fort Bragg, N.C., and Pope Air Force Base
at Fort Bragg. The directory is dated January 1962. Uniquely, the directory lists
all of the military units and divisions stationed at the bases, with their unit command
hierarchy listed. There is a yellow pages section consisting of all of the services
and installations at Fort Bragg and Pope AFB, including such things as base clothing
stores, TV repair shops, beauty shops, base clubs, post chapels, post exchanges, and
other such services for service individuals on base. There is most significantly a
complete alphabetical listing of all Fort Bragg, Pope AFB, and Kennedy Special Warfare
School enlisted personnel, showing their ranks, home or barracks addresses, and military
units or base facilities to which the individuals are attached. This is the only-known
source for a complete listing of personnel at all of the installations at Fort Bragg,
N.C., for 1962.
