Owen of Sampson Co. and Dr. John Owen of Columbus Co. and Wilmington, concerns John's medical practice, their investment in a Cape Fear River steamer, and arrest of two men in Wilmington for attempting to incite a Negro insurrection (Dec., 1860). Also letters (1861,1864) from Sampson Co. soldiers, one about army punishment; and Sampson Co. plats, deeds (1795-1850), and estate paper of John Parker (1806).
