    Papers of Olds, newspaperman, colonel in the state guard, collector for Hall of History, including correspondence, newspaper articles by and about Olds, and clipping files of North Caroliniana. There are a few collected documents such as promissory notes, coupons, receipts, sharecropper contract (1883), and survey of the line between Caldwell and Watauga counties (1925). Also compiled abstracts of laws (1790-1927); compiled letters of Civil War governors (news- paper clippings); and volume illustrating rooms of Hall of History and preservation of some original documents (1721-1817) by the Historical Commission, ca. 1914.
