Collection Overview
Papers of Jarvis, Tyrrell Co. legislator, governor (1879-1885), minister to Brazil (1885-1889), and U. S. senator, including a scrapbook of newspaper clippings on the career and death of Governor Jarvis, kept by his wife, and a document from the Brazilian government, bestowing honor on Ambassador Jarvis (1889). Also grant to a Thomas Jarvis for land in Currituck Co. (1790).
