Diary of London, Pittsboro attorney and journalist, recording activities as a senior at UNC, July-Nov., 1864. Included are descriptions of church and literary society meetings, recitations to professors, reading of law, visits to friends in Chapel Hill, freshman-sophomore bouts and consequent discipline by the faculty, organization of a civilian night patrol, and efforts of a professor to delay student conscription. Also a pamphlet by London, "An Address on the Revolutionary History of Chatham Co., N.C., delivered at Pittsborough, N.C., on the Fourth Day of July, 1876." See also P.C. 703 and A.B. 107.
